Why should I install a tankless hot water heater?
Because storage of hot water in a regular hot water heater uses energy and a tankless hot water heater provides hot water on demand, when you need it!
Why should I upgrade my heating or cooling system?
Updating your current heating, cooling and hot water equipment will drastically cut your spending on fuel, not to mention the tax rebates on most equipment. Also, the current HVAC equipment available is protected by excellent warranty coverage and it is extremely reliable.
What is “seer” and how do I choose what type of equipment to purchase?
“Seer” stands for “Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio.” This is the estimated amount of energy the equipment uses during the season. Whether it’s the heating or cooling season, the higher the seer, the less energy the product uses. For more information, visit www.ftc.gov/.
Why should I use propane as a fuel choice?
Propane and natural gas are the only fuels that offer Compac ultra high efficiency heating and plastic direct venting equipment. Oil is getting there, but for now if the choice is to heat hot water and to heat a new or existing home with forced hot air, propane and natural gas equipment is the way to go. All of this equipment requires no mason chimney and is ideal for application where an existing chimney is not lined or fit to be used. Also, in new construction a chimney does not have to be figured into construction. Only a 3 ½” hole is required to vent through the sill or roof using SCH 40 PVC plastic pipe. A 6”x6” chimney flue creates enough draft to an equivalent of a 24”x24” hole in the home, pulling precious heat out of the boiler, hot air furnace, a vented hot water heater or any heating appliance connected to a chimney. The 90+ efficiency gas condensing hot water boilers and tankless hot water heaters along with 90+ gas condensing hot water furnaces have less than 8-10% flue loss when running. There is next to zero loss of energy through the plastic 3” flue during the off cycle.
